History of MSCC

Marque Sports Car Club (MSCC) evolved from the Combined Sports Car Club, which had formed several years before (CSCC). The CSCC was an umbrella organization for Sports Car Clubs and arose from a need to combine events and provide a larger pool of participants for those events and to ease the financial burden of CAMS affiliation. In 1994 CSCC was incorporated as MARQUE.

In the not to distant past the CAMS affiliation fee was much lower, but a capitation fee was payable for every member in the club, wether they wanted a CAMS licence or not. To overcome this any member of a club that joined MSCC could then obtain a licence by paying a nominal fee to join MSCC as a competition member. CAMS restricted the number of clubs that could be invited to an event in those days, so to get the required numbers was often a struggle. MSCC as an invited club would have plenty of participants.

MSCC’S main event was the monthly night run challenge. A Touring Assembly Style Navigation event that was run on the 3rd Sunday of the month. These were a great event that many people in the club supported.

Other Events that MSCC were Motorkhanas and Super Sprints.
In 2008 CAMS made changers that have seen reductions in the costs of affiliations for smaller clubs. Due to this and a lack of staff MARQUE closed after 14 years of running.
